Sami Jamil
Sami Jamil received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University and went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach. He was first introduced to physical therapy while at MSU shadowing a sports physical therapist who worked with local youth athletes. He is passionate about working with athletes of all ages and is always eager to push his patients to their greatest potential. During his time at CSULB, he had opportunities and experiences in both outpatient orthopedics and neurological rehab where he worked with patients recovering from Parkinson’s disease, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and various orthopedic conditions including joint replacements.
Dr. Sami’s treatment philosophy focuses primarily on manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and prescribing functional exercises that are relevant to his patients goals and daily activities. He believes that every patient deserves an individually tailored program that not only addresses their limitations and goals, but sets them up with the tools needed for future success and wellness. He is a big advocate in maintaining a well-rounded approach to all of his programs, and emphasizes the importance of sleep, stress-management, and cardiovascular fitness.
In his free time, Dr. Sami enjoys going for long runs, trying out new restaurants, watching his Spartans and Patriots play on the weekends, and spending time with his girlfriend Rosalie.
