Rachel Brooks graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania in 2016. Immediately after graduating, she began working as a travel physical therapist and made her way to the West Coast. Her time as a travel physical therapist afforded her ample opportunities to work in a variety of outpatient orthopedic settings.
It was through a shoulder injury that she became familiar with physical therapy. Her experience with physical therapy prompted an interest in how the human body functions and what tools and techniques can be used to help people return to doing what they love.
Dr. Rachel’s treatment approach includes a mix of functional movement assessment and training along with manual techniques. She believes that teaching her patients to move well is a key component in the recovery process. Dr. Rachel believes that every person’s treatments should be individualized and specific to their needs. She has completed the Functional Range Conditioning course and utilizes this with her patients to maximize joint mobility and control. In addition to further Functional Range courses, Dr. Rachel plans to test and become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in the near future.
In her free time, you can find Rachel outdoors hiking, running, playing with her Australian Shepherd puppy, and/or pursuing her hobby of landscape photography. She is also a regular at her local crossfit gym and enjoys tracking her car at various Southern California racetracks.
