Laura Murillo
Laura Murillo was born in Bogota, Colombia and grew up in the South Bay city of Torrance, California. She graduated from the University of La Verne in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training in 2018 and is a certified athletic trainer. Dr. Laura continued her education at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2023. Dr. Laura became passionate about physical therapy after a knee injury while playing soccer and enjoyed the one-on-one interaction with patients and health care providers. During her time in her undergraduate and graduate studies, Laura has worked with a variety of sports teams including college and high school football and basketball, outpatient orthopedics, acute rehab centers with a focus in stroke and traumatic brain injuries, and post-op.
Dr. Laura’s treatment approach emphasizes neuromuscular education, manual therapy and educating patients about the importance of a personalized exercise program to improve their quality of life, returning to activities they enjoy and promoting independence.
In her free time Laura enjoys going to the beach, trying different restaurants, coffee shops and breweries, camping/ traveling, snowboarding, and playing soccer.
