Julianne Guevarra graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology. She then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA and graduated with high honors. During her time in PT school, Dr. Julianne was able to gain experience in acute care, outpatient orthopedics, and inpatient/sub-acute care. From these various settings, she learned the necessities for being an expert clinician and therapist, in addition to discovering her passion for orthopedics.
She believes that patient-centered care is vital for positive rehabilitation outcomes and she strives to listen to and educate the patient on their plan of care, stressing an individualized treatment program complemented by a home exercise program to guide the patient towards independence. She enjoys being a physical therapist because it is extremely gratifying when you make a positive change in a patient’s life and get them back to doing what they love without pain.
Growing up, Dr. Julianne was involved in cheerleading, track & field, and tennis where she had her fair share of injuries. Currently, she likes to stay active by participating in half marathons and 10k races. In her free time, she likes to go on adventures with her dog and boyfriend to dog-friendly parks, beaches, and breweries. Her other interests include DIY projects, cooking, and houseplants.
