Josiah Leung received his Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of California, Irvine after which he quickly moved on to becoming a high school teacher and coach. It was here that his passion for teaching and sports was cultivated, however it was also a harsh reality that many coaches, including himself, were inadequately trained to help prevent and treat injuries. Eventually he felt the call to pursue a deeper understanding of the human body and went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. During his program he was able to gain valuable experience in the county hospital working with acute injuries as well as private clinics working with athletes in the NCAA and NFL. It is in the orthopedic setting where Dr. Josiah’s passion for physical therapy lies.
Dr. Josiah’s goal is not just to help people return to the previous level of function, but to surpass it. This is why he believes so strongly about educating and helping his patients understand their own bodies.
In his free time, Dr. Josiah enjoys hiking, scuba diving, cycling and rooting for his native Chicago sports teams. Furthermore, at any given time he is always planning his next opportunity to travel abroad or spend time outdoors.
