Jay Yi earned his Bachelor degree in Criminology, Law and Society from the University of California, Irvine with an intent to pursue a career in law enforcement. Having an inclination towards stories of healing and recovery, his decision to pursue physical therapy ignited after listening to a testimony of a person with a transtibial amputation who learned to walk, and eventually run, with a prosthesis. After obtaining his Bachelor’s, he furthered schooling at Stanbridge University to graduate with an Associate degree in Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
During his clinical internships, Jay had an opportunity to work with both young and old in various settings like orthopedics, sports medicine, and in-patient skilled nursing facilities. He values journeying together with his patients in their rehabilitation and believes in a “person-first” approach to therapy.
In his free time, Jay enjoys backpacking, playing tennis, singing and songwriting, watching cinema, and finding the best eateries.”
