Fergie Mercado is an Orange County native and graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. There, she was a member of UCI’s Dragonboat team and saw firsthand how musculoskeletal injuries can not only impact an athlete’s sports performance, but their mental and emotional health as well. This sparked an interest in physical therapy, and after going through rehab for her own shoulder injury, Dr. Fergie went on to the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Her clinical internships took her across the states, with opportunities to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and showed her the importance of a compassionate, patient-centered approach to best help patients reach their goals.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Dr. Fergie out on the water in Newport Beach on a stand-up paddleboard or outrigger canoe with her fiance. Her other hobbies include taking Reformer Pilates classes and plants (of all shapes and sizes!).
